Niche Affiliate Marketing - a Great Way to Start

By Ginger Coleen

You've finally decided to try and make money on the Internet by working from home. There's a lot of things you'll need to learn, including hundreds of new terms, especially marketing terms. One of the most profitable areas of online businesses is niche affiliate marketing.

One of the easiest and quickest ways to profit online, happens to also be one of my favorites -- niche affiliate marketing. Let's examine what niche affiliate marketing is.

If you don't already know what affiliate marketing is, well just type that term into any search engine and you'll get a large number of websites with information to choose from. Affiliate marketing is simply selling someone else's product and getting paid a commission for each sale. Some affiliate programs pay a small fee for each click to their website from your link or banner.

As you can probably tell by the presence of the word "niche", niche affiliate marketing targets a small, distinct market. For example, you might choose to focus on sports, but that's a really huge niche. For truly niche marketing, you should aim for a more specific market like football or golf.

However, you should never focus down *too* far. If you get into too small a niche, you might find there isn't much to market. For example, if your niche were golf balls, rather than the sport of golf in general, you might end up limiting your topics and affiliate choices.

It might be better to choose the entire golf niche. That way you can sell information about golf courses, golf balls, golf tees, and even target specific golfer products -- like Tiger Woods products. Just as an aside, the golf niche is a very popular niche. While this might seem to be a good thing, it also means that there is a lot of competition.

When the Internet was new and we were just learning to market online, each one of us had to create everything from scratch. We had to figure out what the best keywords were, how to use them and then design and build a website, create the graphics, and find the traffic. Geez, traffic is a whole major niche of its own and I don't mean the freeway kind!

Things have changed a lot over the last 14 years since I started out online. Today, you can buy packages for niche affiliate marketing that contain precoded niche websites with all the graphics included. All you have to do is load them up to a web host and drive the traffic to them.

Some of these packages contain articles and bonus materials to tempt your visitors to purchase some of the products that you're selling, and perhaps, to sign up for your mailing list. Be very careful when purchasing these packages, however. Make sure you shop around and check out what's being offered.

You'll find that many of the packages are very reasonable in price. Some of these niche affiliate marketing packages also include information on to promote them. The marketer who created the package will also profit from your efforts when you promote the package, so it is in their best interest to help you succeed.

If you're just starting out, that kind of training will be highly beneficial to you. I highly recommend that find packages that include this kind of training. While some packages are rather expensive, remember that the price doesn't ensure that you'll be getting a quality product.

Because of the competitive market today, the prices have gone down while still retaining a great deal of quality.

To sum things up, find a good product that includes a pre-designed web page you can load up quickly. Make sure it also has good training to teach you how to market the site. Then you can build a small niche affiliate marketing business around it.

Just do it once then repeat again and again. Eventually, your profits will grow quickly. You get the picture!

Building a niche affiliate marketing business with can be easy, profitable and fun, and anyone can do it.
