Using Article Marketing

Article marketing is wonderful for building the number of visitors that come to your website. If the concept of article marketing is new to you, article marketing involves writing articles related to the subject of your website and submitting them to websites known as article directories.

Every website traffic expert tells us that new and original content is a key ingredient to getting higher rankings on search engines for your website or blog. Because it takes time and effort to create an article for a website, many webmasters turn to article directories to find new content that they can use.

By submitting articles to article directories, you give permission to other webmasters to run your articles on their blogs or websites. In return, the webmasters agree to include a byline and author's box that you tack onto each of your articles.

The author's box that you create should include some information about the product or service that you're offering. It should also include a link back to your website.

By including your article on their blog or website, people will get to see the information in the author's box, and the links to your website as well. If your article appears on thousands of websites, then tens of thousands of people will end up reading it. The number of people clicking on the link to visit your site might be significant.

How do find these article directories? Just do a websearch for "article directory" or "free article directories". Dozens if not hundreds of listings will appear. You should note that some of these directories restrict themselves to certain topics. You shouldn't send articles that are unrelated to such directories. And, to help you in the submission process, there are software packages available that can help you.

Thinking of topics for your articles might seem be difficult, but it doesn't have to be. Simply take the subject of your website, and try to come up with a question that your visitors might have. Then write an article that answers that question.

For those who don't enjoy writing, don't be dismayed. There are people who will write the articles for you -- ghostwriters -- for a small fee. Depending on the company and the complexity of the article, you should expect to pay anywhere from $6 to $20 for each 500-word article. Again, just do a websearch for "ghostwriters" or "website article writer" to find out who is out there.

That's all there is to article marketing. It's a great way to build your website traffic numbers.
